Have you ever wondered:
Why does society exist...
Why society can be so split...
Why is it as a global society, history keep repeating itself...
Why is it that an individal can be so easily brainwashed...
Why there's a top and a bottom of the power chain...
Why we have boxes, labels, and categories for everything...
Why there are so many expectations for people...
Why not all communities can coexist peacefully...
Does genetics take part...
Does instinctual primal urges have an influence...
If these are some things you think about from time to time, then we are on the same wavelength when it comes to the qualities of over thinking and morbid curiosity. These are some of the many things that I will be addressing throughout this blog page, one post by post over time.
According to the dictionary a society is 1.) an organized group of persons associated together for religious, benevolent, cultural, scientific, political, patriotic, or other purposes 2.) a body of individuals living as member of a community; community 3.) the body of human beings generally, associated or viewed as member of a community 4.) a highly structured system of human organization for a large scale community that normally furnishes portection, continuity, security and a nation identity for its members 5.) such a stem characterized by its dominant eoconomic class or form 8.) the social life of wealthy, prominent, or fashionable persons 6.) the social class that compromises such persons.
In so many words, there's labels, boxes, and categories that peope are expected to fit in, when it comes to societal expectations. There's always someone who has more power and those who have less. Those who lead, and those who follow.
Some other things I have wondered about are:
What are the repercussions or direct consequences of not meeting the societal expectations?
How does that affect an individual?
How does societal expectations change over time as an individual goes through the stages of life?
How does society have a positive influence?
In what ways does society shape an individual?
A close resemblance:
In many ways societies have direct parallels with other societal structures. It's quite ironic how humans want to be so set apart from animals. Due to believing have more intellectual properties, but I can think of many animal kingdom societal structures that relate closely to that of the humans.
One closely related is the wolf pack. In a wolf pack there's a leader, the alpha and then there's the lowest one in the pack, known as the beta. This resemblance of top and bottom, leader vs. follower is quite evident. It's a structure among animals that allows there to be a structure.
Then there's also the structure of migrating from one place to the other such as the indigenous do which has the resemblance to the flocks of birds or pods of orcas. As well as, many other similairites across speicies, in regards to going where the food source is for survival .
Lastly, in society and communities there are different roles that each individual takes on. Such as with Indian mountain monkeys. There are those who are on watch, those who defend the young, those who gather food and etc. A similiar structure we have too. Each invidual has different jobs, and tasks throughout their daily life.
Societies are quite complex. Each indvidual has their own purpose and reason to being part of the web of masses.
It is just all so fascinating...!!!!
Don't you think?
Anyways, until next time. Hope you have an amazing weekend!!!
